Local Attractions
Wingfield is a small village on the Suffolk Norfolk border.
In Tudor times Wingfield was one of the wealthiest villages in the country – mainly due to the wool trade, - the privately owned Castle and St Andrews Church bear witness to this.
Although quiet in nature it is the base of Wingfield Arts & Music and Swingletree Stables, home of the London-Norwich Royal Mail Coach.
Within a 5 – 10 mile radius are many excellent restaurants and pubs, some with Les Routier awards, others serving fine locally brewed ales, we keep a folder with menus from some of the best and are happy to make a reservation for our guests.
We are ideally situated for visiting the delights of the Suffolk coast - be it historic Dunwich or the more lively Lowestoft.
Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich are all less than an hours drive and the beautiful scenery of Constable Country not much further.
Cyclists
Explore the delights of the East Anglian countryside. We are ideally based for a holiday with several easy to work out routes, avoiding main roads. Serious cyclists should bring their own cycles, but we are hoping to be able to lend cycles for the amateur and family! Please make enquiries when booking.

See rural England at its best - plenty of hedgerows, acres of unspoilt farmland - bring your OS map and explore !
